Performance

In the autofictional short performance ‘On Leaps and Class’, Steven Solbrig explores the subtle fissures and the glue that holds society together in times of profound change.

The window of his own first flat becomes a multi-layered symbol, a mirror, a starting point for comparisons and questions: class? Body? Movement? Or the other way round? Who is considered poor today, and who isn’t? And where, actually, are we heading now?

Steven Solbrig slips into various roles, rebels against labels and invites the audience to engage in their own examination of class.

‘On Leaps and Class’ encourages us to face up to our vulnerability and our own fears of social decline, in search of what unites us – or what divides us.
