Concert and reading
In their collaboration, they regard the piano as a resonant body whose sound is physically altered through prepared interventions, and the electronics as an independent instrument that reacts to this sound rather than processing it.
Both musicians regard their instruments as interconnected systems that influence one another through gesture, density and spatial perception, rather than through direct signal processing.
Their concert programme at the Brotfabrik features two commissioned works:
- ‘Kompliment’ by Gudrun Gut and ‘Versenken, Ausloten’ by Jessie Marino.
- They will also perform a structured improvisation together with the artist and poet Swantje Lichtenstein.
Swantje Lichtenstein is an artist, musician, poet, coach, curator and producer whose main interests lie in the transtextual, performative amplification of language, sound and theory, as well as in the exploration of electro-acoustic and conceptual recordings from a transmedial and feminist perspective. Lichtenstein teaches as a professor of artistic, aesthetic and cultural practices at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences.
