Orelon Trio

The multi-award-winning Orelon Trio – praised by the FAZ for its “symphonic depth, homogeneous sound and

chamber-music intensity” – ranks among the most exciting ensembles of the younger generation.

Since its formation in 2019, the trio has built a remarkable international career, marked by first prizes at competitions in Munich, Melbourne and Graz, as well as performances in venues such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Vienna Musikverein and the Pierre Boulez Hall.

The Centre Bagatelle has supported the Trio Orelon since its inception and has supported its artistic development through several early performances. The ensemble’s return is therefore not only a reunion with familiar musical ideals, but also fills us with palpable joy and a certain sense of pride.

With the ‘Beethoven’s Daughters’ project, the trio turns its attention to female composers whose works have long been overshadowed. The presented concerts place selected pieces by these forgotten masters in relation to Beethoven – not as a mere comparison, but as a musical dialogue that opens up historical connections and opens up new ways of listening.

For an audience that appreciates the classical tradition whilst remaining curious about musical discoveries, this creates an evening of particular depth: a familiar musical language meets surprising discoveries, complemented by insightful commentary that sheds light on the composers’ lives, stylistic characteristics and historical contexts.

A programme that broadens the canon, highlights the diversity of classical music and places the art of listening – entirely in keeping with the name Orelon – at the centre.
