Treffen junger Autor*innen

The Young Writers’ Gathering invites people aged between 11 and 21 from across the country to apply with their own written work. The theme and style are open:

Whether stories, short stories, plays, slam poetry, poems, spoken word or experimental narrative forms – all types of writing may be submitted. It is also possible to submit texts written in other languages or in a mixture of languages.

An independent jury will select around twenty authors and their texts from the applications; these authors will be invited to Berlin as prize-winners to attend the Young Authors’ Gathering.

The gathering provides a safe space where young artists can meet, inspire one another and, with professional guidance from experienced authors and workshop leaders, be encouraged to further develop their personal artistic expression.

The Young Authors’ Gathering is part of the ‘Treffen junge Szene’ programme at the Berliner Festspiele and is funded as a national competition by the Federal Ministry of Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth (BMBFSFJ).
