Special Exhibition at the Alte Nationalgalerie

In this anniversary year, the Alte Nationalgalerie presents, across all three floors, juxtapositions of 20th- and 21st-century works with 19th-century art, inviting visitors to engage in associative viewing. The Nationalgalerie opened in 1876 as a venue for contemporary art.

Today, under the name Alte Nationalgalerie, it is the flagship venue of the Nationalgalerie and the museum dedicated to the art of the long 19th century. All six venues of the Nationalgalerie are united by a shared collection, ranging from the Alte Nationalgalerie to the Neue Nationalgalerie and the Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart – Hamburger Bahnhof.

Join us on a guided tour of the museum and experience art spanning three centuries.
