Bärchen, nicknamed ‘Bär’, is a teddy bear and over 100 years old. His eyes have seen a great deal. He was there during some very happy moments, but also some very terrible ones – for example, when the walls shook because of the bombs. Or when Irene’s grandmother was deported. Until now, Bär has preferred to avoid these memories.

Now, together with the audience, he enters rooms that have long been locked away, where key moments in his life are brought back to life through shadow theatre and sound.

A documentary theatre piece about the life of a Jewish child under the Nazi dictatorship, told from the perspective of a teddy bear.
