Art, Activism, and the Right to Have a Body

The human body lies at the heart of many pressing contemporary legal debates. Yet not all bodies are accorded the same status or the same capacity to act under the law.

Drawing on a wide range of practices and perspectives from the arts, the humanities, law and activism, this lecture series examines how the body is perceived and treated within the law. It explores how body-based knowledge can reveal ambiguities and gaps in legal structures and support the development of alternative models of justice.

Featuring: Phanuel Antwi, Ansambl Generalštab / Nikolina Đorđević, Banu Bargu, Nevena Delić, Başak Ertür, Hanaa Hakiki, Janez Janša, Nenad Lajbenšperger, Laura Leogrande, James Martel, Lina Majdalanie, Carolina Mendonça, Esther Neuhann, Sandra Noeth, Lucia Ruprecht, Arkadi Zaides, Robin Vanbesien and Sabrina Winter.

  • All events take place on Thursdays from 6.00 pm to 8.00 pm in English, are streamed live and are free to attend.
