The human body lies at the heart of many pressing contemporary legal debates. Yet not all bodies are accorded the same status or the same capacity to act under the law.

Drawing on a wide range of practices and perspectives from the arts, the humanities, law and activism, this lecture series examines how the body is perceived in law and how it is treated. It explores how body-based knowledge can reveal ambiguities and gaps in legal structures and support the development of alternative models of justice.
