Melancholy in Moderation – Double concert with Nils Svenja & Reni
In Nils Svenja’s work, fragile, delicate singer-songwriter elements blend with self-destructive grunge influences and sombre, dreamy lyrics that reveal a penchant for the surreal and the absurd. In his songs, he focuses primarily on loneliness, the pressure to pair up and the incorrigibility of human endeavour.
Reni has developed her own genre: ‘poetry-album punk’. Her vocals range from silky-smooth to snotty, whilst her lyrics span from lyrical lethargy to raw, scratchy intensity. World-weariness, online dating escapades, the search for one’s own identity: Reni always tackles these themes with a certain tragicomic flair.
