with Laura Campaz, Jenny M. Díaz Muñoz, Julieth Morales and Maque Pereyra
On 31 October, as part of ‘Embodied Practices’, the artistic and curatorial practices of Laura Campaz, Jenny M. Díaz Muñoz, Julieth Morales and Maque Pereyra will come together.
From an Afro-Colombian perspective, Laura Campaz combines work with image archives, digital technologies and speculative imagination.
As a Misak artist, Julieth Morales reinterprets physical and ritual practices, questioning colonial influences and traditional gender roles in the process. Drawing on rituals and emotions, Jenny M. Díaz Muñoz combines art and politics with memory work through collaborative research and creative processes. Maque Pereyra, through her self-developed practice ‘Yoggaton’, opens up avenues to embodied knowledge through pleasure, sensuality and spirituality.
In dialogue, they explore how artistic and curatorial practice transforms traditional forms of knowledge and opens up spaces for alternative experiences and relationships. The artists’ works are on display in the venue and provide further starting points for the discussion.
- The talk will be preceded by the embodied practice ‘Yoggaton: Transformative Pleasure’ led by Maque Pereyra.
