To mark the 750th anniversary of the city of Berlin in 1987, the first commemorative plaques of the Kreuzberg anti-fascist commemorative plaque programme were unveiled in Kreuzberg; they still adorn a number of building walls in the district today. The plaques commemorate people who resisted National Socialism and those who were persecuted.

Ahead of the 40th anniversary of the programme’s launch in 2027, Trille Schünke-Bettinger (Antifaschistinnen aus Anstand) will lead a guided tour of selected plaques, exploring issues relating to the politics of remembrance. A group discussion is planned afterwards at the FHXB Museum.
