One of the finest choral works of the Romantic period, Johannes Brahms’s Requiem, marks both the opening and an immediate highlight of the Berlin Max Reger Choir’s anniversary season, celebrating its 10th anniversary.
In the incomparable setting of the Gedächtniskirche on Breitscheidplatz, the choir continues its long-standing collaboration with the Berlin Symphonic Chamber Orchestra (SKOB).
The soloists are Juline Florentino (soprano) and Simon Robinson (baritone), with Thorsten Putscher conducting. Since its inception, the Max Reger Choir has engaged intensively with the works of Johannes Brahms, as well as with other works from the Romantic period. The choir’s second area of focus is on new music, including world premieres of works by contemporary composers.
