Parallel protocols are collaborative texts about everyday life. In mobile writing workshops, we produce contemporary history rooted in real life.

Two to four participants, with or without writing experience, silently record a everyday location and the surrounding events for 20 minutes – along with whatever thoughts cross our minds. This results in anonymous, chronologically continuous, multi-voiced texts.

“We have found a format that makes it possible to interrupt one another in a friendly way. Everyone is absorbed in their own world, and yet the tips of others’ worlds always peek through. The texts have a special rhythm. And every place has a particular atmosphere that can be intensified or distilled through this organised subjectivity of voices, impressions and perspectives.”
