Children's Program, Vacation Program

What does a dancing circle sound like? What noises does a bouncing triangle make? And how can you create your very own animated film out of paper? In this two-day workshop, children will be immersed in the fascinating world of animated film.

Inspired by the experimental films of early cinema and the colourful animations of Oskar Fischinger, they discover how images come to life – and how music and sounds breathe life into them.

Using scissors, paper and plenty of imagination, the participants will create their own characters, shapes and visual worlds. Step by step, they will work together to turn these into short animated films.

The films are then set to music by the children themselves: using their voices, everyday sounds, instruments and sound experiments, they develop a soundtrack all of their own.

In this playful way, they experience how image and sound interact and how many small ideas come together to create a shared film experience.

A creative workshop for anyone who enjoys creating, experimenting and discovering – from the first paper figure to the finished animated film with its own soundtrack, in collaboration with Jugend im Museum e. V.

  • The workshop runs from Thursday at 10 am and continues on Friday at 2 pm.
