A journey through queer Germany: Who are you – a gay man in his sixties looking for connection, a non-binary person in the midst of coming out, or a queer person in a small town where nobody must know? Do you live alone and wonder who will look after you when you’re feeling down? Or does the search for love in the big city frustrate you?

This book is for you. It tells of loneliness in online dating and of the joy of organising a Pride parade with thousands of attendees in a small town in eastern Germany. It asks why queer people are more often lonely, and shows ways to find community – from cuddle parties to queer housing projects.

Lennart Herberhold grew up as a gay boy in the Saarland countryside, where he felt very lonely. Today, he is a writer for ARD television and Arte, having worked on programmes such as the documentary ‘Queer and Muslim’. His first book, *Together! How Germany is Experimenting with New Ways of Living*, was published in 2022.

Anni Dunkelmann is known for her documentary series “Anni am Limit” and “Dit isst Berlin” on rbb’s evening programme and is renowned for her thought-provoking, emotional and quick-witted reporting and entertainment. With plenty of self-deprecating humour and good humour, she works as a reporter in the capital.

An event in collaboration with Regenbogen Reinickendorf e.V.
