Berlin’s oldest story-reading boy band

The Brauseboys are a reading group that has been meeting every Thursday evening for the past 23 years. Every week, they perform their own humorous and satirical texts.

The “cult Berlin reading group” (Der Tagesspiegel) was once described by the dpa as “a hip band”, the FAZ called it a sort of “people’s version of the Harald Schmidt Show”, whilst the taz describes it as “varied and above average, as well as fully compliant with all fire safety regulations”.

Yet for many years, they themselves sang in their closing song: “We’re just short-story readers”.

A perfect balance of satire and social commentary.
