And All the Lanterns Came On – Authors’ Reading
A story about the power of love. In the blink of an eye (a stroke), everything is gone. Speech, movement, independence. But what goes on inside a person who has suddenly had everything taken away from them, trapped inside their own body, yet fully in possession of their faculties?

And how does their partner cope?
From both perspectives, the two actors, Mariam Kurth and Henning Schimke, recount how life takes on a new dimension.
And All the Lanterns Came On tells the story of a newlywed couple who embrace life in spite of – or perhaps precisely because of – the tangible presence of death; whose love is so strong that they take up the fight against the illness, no matter the outcome.
A book about life, confidence, faith and hope – a book that inspires courage.
