Book launch and discussion

Drawing on texts, interviews and archive material, Dr Teresa Tammer recounts the remarkable life story of Karin Dauenheimer.

As a theologian, feminist, lesbian and single mother, she did not conform to the expectations of the state and society. She wrote for an underground feminist magazine and organised women’s festivals, which became a key catalyst for the emergence of a GDR-wide lesbian movement.

As a result, she was under surveillance by the Stasi for many years.
