Sound Plasma is returning to Berlin to celebrate its 10th anniversary

On 6 November 2026, the Ensemble for New Music Tallinn (Estonia) and Ensemble21 (Belgium) will come together for a vibrant and daring musical dialogue.

The programme features works by Madli Marje Gildemann, Oren Boneh and Arash Yazdani, as well as Jean-Luc Hervé’s ‘Germination’, a composition that blends concert and sound installation into an ever-changing soundscape.

Through the rich timbres and diverse instrumental combinations of both ensembles, the concert explores ever-changing worlds of sound: soundscapes that take root, grow and blossom under the baton of Arash Yazdani and Marc Collet.

This collaboration between Brussels and Tallinn culminates in a sophisticated and nuanced musical dialogue, based on an in-depth engagement with contemporary musical languages.

The Ensemble for New Music Tallinn was founded in 2013 and has since made a name for itself both in Estonia and internationally. The ensemble’s ambitious musical activities encompass a broad spectrum of contemporary styles and genres, with a focus on alternative intonations and microtonal music. The ensemble’s work is characterised by a spirit of experimentation and a desire to explore recent music history, whilst constantly discovering new sonic dimensions.

The Ensemble for New Music Tallinn is the winner of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation Ensemble Prize 2026.

Ensemble21 was founded in 1999 out of a desire to present contemporary music from an alternative perspective. The ensemble captivates audiences with its attention to detail, spontaneity and enthusiasm. Convinced that contemporary music should be understood as a living art form that connects with its audience, the ensemble has consistently emphasised the connection to spatial art and poetic dimensions through its repertoire.
