International artists are supporting KulturLeben Berlin with two charity concerts

In October and November 2026, two special charity concerts will be held in aid of KulturLeben Berlin. The Taiwanese pianist Fang-Ing Sheu and the Georgian vocal ensemble Batumi will be performing as musical guests who have had close ties with the association for many years.

Both charity concerts are an expression of friendship and solidarity. Through their music, the artists aim to bring people together whilst helping to support KulturLeben Berlin. For 16 years, the organisation has been enabling people on low incomes to participate in cultural life and achieve social inclusion.

Bach – Austria – Taiwan

Piano recital with Fang-Ing Sheu

This is the fourth time that the Taiwanese pianist Fang-Ing Sheu has come to the capital for a concert at the invitation of KulturLeben Berlin. Under the theme ‘Bach – Austria – Taiwan’, Fang-Ing Sheu spans a range from J. S. Bach through Mozart and Schubert to contemporary Taiwanese compositions by Tyzen Hsiao and Ching-Ju Shih. In doing so, the Vienna-trained pianist combines the musical worlds of Europe and Taiwan with her personal life experiences and artistic career.

When: 24 October 2026, 7.00 pm

Where: Hotel Aquino – Conference Centre of the Catholic Academy

Hannoversche Straße 5b, 10115 Berlin-Mitte

Sounds of Friendship

Batumi Vocal Ensemble · Utopia Orchestra · Bakhtrioni

To mark its 35th anniversary, the Batumi Vocal Ensemble – the state choir of the Georgian region of Adjara – joins forces with the inclusive Utopia Orchestra and the Bakhtrioni Choir to present a special concert evening. Georgian choral tradition meets European orchestral music – different musical worlds come together to create a unique auditory experience.

The Utopia Orchestra is at the heart of Werkstatt Utopia, the inclusive music project run by KulturLeben Berlin. Here, people with and without disabilities make music together. The newly founded amateur choir Bakhtrioni is also part of KulturLeben Berlin and is dedicated to traditional Georgian choral music.
