A performance about survival, embodied memories and the struggle to reclaim the right to one’s own history.
Childhood, violence, resistance and survival coexist across different temporal planes, whilst the body becomes an archive for experiences that could not be expressed in language or whose expression was forbidden.
Through narrative, movement, ritual, repetition and sound, ‘As the Stars Fall’ explores the relationship between bearing witness and embodiment: what does it mean to carry a memory within the body, and what changes when a traumatic experience, which was forced into secrecy, is brought into the public sphere?
The audience becomes not merely spectators, but also witnesses. In this intimate encounter, the theatre becomes a space in which the boundaries between the personal and the political, between memory and the present, and between silence and narrative shift. Rather than seeking a solution, the piece asks what it means to make an experience visible, and whether the act of telling the story itself can become a form of resistance.
