‘Sampling’ brings together four contemporary works for percussion and electronics that showcase the diversity of this medium.

Each of the works in the programme illuminates the ensemble from a different perspective: from the interplay of highly virtuosic rhythmic interactions between the parts, through the integration of instrumental timbres and resonances into the electronic soundscape, to the amplification and spatial distribution of microscopic sonic details, as well as the interweaving of voice, text, percussion and electronics into a multi-layered musical dramaturgy. Two musicians come together to explore new timbres – not only with clarinets and piano, but also in combination with the harpsichord, an unusual blend of a few old gems and more recent pieces from the 21st-century repertoire.
