Static Organism explores the tension between binary opposites: acoustic and electronic sounds manipulated through organic and digital processes.
The English word ‘static’ is contradictory in its dual meaning: on the one hand, still, motionless, frozen – on the other, as noise, flickering, repetitive and disorientating. Organisms are, by their very nature, the opposite: mobile and hyperdynamic.
Within this tension, the subtleties of acoustic sounds are brought to life, amplified and distorted – and the audience is led into a world that is both familiar and eerie.
