Communication Development Foundation Awards Ceremony
The VOICE Albert O. Hirschman Prize for Engagement, Dissent and the Renewal of Democratic Culture will be awarded for the first time on 29 September 2024 by the Kommunikationsaufbau Foundation in memory of the sociologist, economist and activist Albert O. Hirschman (1915–2012).

In the spirit of the eponymous author’s seminal work *Exit, Voice, and Loyalty* and the stated purpose of the Kommunikationsaufbau Foundation, the prize is intended to honour individuals, groups or projects that support the participation of marginalised groups, counter political apathy or stand up to populism.
The aim is to promote and expand dialogue and participation, thereby helping to combat the trend towards disengagement from democracy in this society.
During this event, the high-profile contribution from 2025 – selected this year by the jury appointed by the Foundation’s Board of Trustees – will be presented and honoured.
