Wedding Klezmer
The musicians first met many years ago in Wedding at a workshop led by the composer and trumpeter Paul Brody. Since then, they have been performing as a quartet and quintet, arranging traditional instrumental pieces and songs; for the past four years, they have been joined by Uwe Sauerwein, who performs Yiddish programmes both as a soloist and, amongst other roles, as a member of the Kasbek ensemble.
Featuring Stefan Aab (accordion), Jannis Lilge (trumpet, bouzouki, vocals, percussion), Uwe Sauerwein (guitar, vocals), Thomas Gruner-Szur (clarinet, bass clarinet) and Martin Borbonus (double bass).
