Songs carried by the gentle yet resolute tones of guitars, bass, accordion, brass, drums and piano invite the audience to dance during the unique moments of the concerts.

Wenzel’s work draws from a seemingly inexhaustible source. In recent years, Wenzel has surprised us with numerous CD releases: new, previously unreleased songs; musical settings of works by Johannes R. Becher, Christoph Hein, Theodor Kramer and Woody Guthrie.

Melancholic, full of zest for life, subversive, warm-hearted, cynical, delicate and direct. Yet Wenzel remains a refugee from the world’s impositions. With bittersweet irony, he braves the rough seas.
