To kick off the Wild Roots season, children are becoming cartographers: on Saturday, October 17, starting at 10:30 a.m., 4- to 7-year-olds—accompanied by an adult—will survey the forest at the Nature Campus Müggelsee.

Wild Roots – Session 01: Our Territory

Saturday, 17 October 2026 | Nature Campus Müggelsee

Kids carry maps in their phones. Time to put one back in their hands, one they draw themselves.

To kick off the new Wild Roots season, children become cartographers and explorers. They head out, chart the forest by Lake Müggelsee and record everything they find. Whoever comes along gets the best job of the day: assistant. That means carrying the backpack, handing over pencils and not interrupting the marvelling.

A nature experience for families, with wet feet, red noses and just the right dose of adventure to make a Saturday stick. The session is held in English, because forests and curiosity speak every language. At the end, the explorers earn a badge, because good work deserves recognition.

And because a territory can’t be explored in a single morning, the season continues.
