Dreams are free, fleeting and full of surprises. They bear witness to a wild wellspring of consciousness: distorted colours, blurred images, grainy close-ups, strange sounds, wanderings through ever-changing landscapes and an absurd succession of scenes ranging from still to frenetic.
Dreams inspire, fascinate and challenge. In an almost empty room with three fog machines, a viola da gamba, a saxophone and a clarinet, an actress, an actor and a musician navigate by sight. They traverse the labyrinth of dreams. They play their way through individual and collective dream sequences – through expectations, fears, hopes, dystopias and utopias. Or, like their distant relatives, the Surrealists, they explore the invention of dreams, fearlessly and with relish.
A poetic and musical theatrical meditation on the unresolved, the unknown and the creative within us.
